The short version

You can use every calculator without an account, without giving us an email address, and without anything about you reaching our servers at all.

If you make an account, we hold your email address and whatever pricing figures you choose to save. That is the whole list.

There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no third-party scripts of any kind on this site. Nothing about your visit is sold or shared for marketing, and there is nothing to sell it to.

Using the calculators without an account

The figures you type into a calculator are worked out in your browser and saved in your browser's own storage, so a refresh or a closed tab does not lose twenty minutes of typing.

That saved draft stays on your device. It is not sent to us and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data removes it.

What we store if you make an account

An account exists so your saved products are there next time. To do that we store:

• Your email address, which is how you sign in and how we reach you about your account.
• Your shop name, if you enter one, so it can go on an exported price sheet.
• The products you save: their names, materials, costs, times and the pricing settings attached to them.
• Your default settings, such as your hourly rate and overhead percentage.
• Whether you have paid for Pro, along with the order reference from the payment processor.

What we deliberately do not do

There is no Google Analytics on this site, no Meta pixel, no advertising network, no session recording and no third-party script watching what you click. We are not tracking you across the internet, because we are not doing any of the things that would require it.

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with anyone for marketing. Your costs are commercially sensitive to you, and one maker can never see another maker's figures. That is enforced by the database itself rather than only by the website, so it holds regardless of what calls it.

Cookies

The only cookies set are the ones that keep you signed in after you click a sign-in link. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is nothing to consent to and no banner asking you to.

Signing out clears them.

The companies we rely on

Running this site means a few other companies handle small pieces of it. They only ever get what they need to do their job:

• Supabase stores the database and handles sign-in. They hold your email address and your saved products.
• Lemon Squeezy processes payments as the merchant of record. They receive your payment details directly, which never pass through us, and they tell us only that an order succeeded and which account it belongs to.
• Resend delivers the sign-in emails. They handle your email address in order to send it.
• Vercel hosts the site and, like any web host, processes the requests your browser makes.

Where your data lives, and for how long

The database and the email sending are hosted in the United States. If you are using the site from elsewhere, your information is processed there.

We keep your account and saved products for as long as your account exists. Delete the account and they go with it. Records of a payment are kept longer where we are required to keep them for tax and accounting.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and everything in it. Email hello@honest-penny.com and we will do it.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. Those rights apply here and you do not have to cite a law to use them. Ask plainly and we will treat it as a request.

Deleting your account removes your saved products permanently. Export anything you want to keep first.

Children

Honest Penny is a tool for running a small business and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you think a child has made an account, tell us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect or who handles it changes, the date at the top changes with it and the change is announced on the site.
